The first 2 minutes of WWE’s latest documentary are now available for viewing.
WWE revealed this week that the long-awaited release of WrestleMania XL: Behind the Curtain is coming to YouTube next Wednesday. Ahead of its release, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, shared an exclusive first look at the documentary on social media.
On X, Levesque wrote, “You can’t always predict the road that will bring you to your destination… or the destination itself, for that matter. Here’s an exclusive look at the first 2 minutes of #WrestleMania XL: Behind the Curtain, premiering July 3 at 7pm ET on @WWE’s YouTube channel.”

The video starts inside a WWE plane, offering a view of the sky with the WWE logo prominently on the wing. Inside, Levesque gazes out the window, reflecting, “The biggest WrestleMania of all time, 40 years in the making. The pressure of it being WrestleMania is overwhelming.” He then discloses that most of the show was decided in October before several events unfolded.
The scene shifts to The Rock’s return and confrontation with Roman Reigns, followed by Cody Rhodes and chants for “The American Nightmare.” After an opening montage, viewers are transported to WWE’s new headquarters in Stamford, CT, where Levesque enters a meeting. Narrated by journalist Tom Rinaldi, the documentary begins with philosophical reflection: “Few roads in life are straight. The journey lies in how we navigate the turns and forge the paths before us. The path to WrestleMania 40 has had more curves and corners than anyone imagined.”
Next is a brief summation of Levesque’s duties at WWE and his accomplishments as a professional wrestler. WWE Executive Director Bruce Prichard speaks to Levesque’s experience, saying, “The guy at the top has been there, he’s been to the top, knows what it takes, and has an open mind.”
Returning to Levesque, the focus sharpens on the importance of a clear destination in creative endeavors. He draws an analogy to using GPS, where setting the destination guides the journey’s twists and turns, while the North Star provides constant direction.
Amidst speculation about WrestleMania XL’s true focal point, initially thought to be a familial clash between The Rock and Roman Reigns, the storyline evolved dramatically. Cody Rhodes seemed poised to finish his saga against Reigns until The Rock intervened, convincing Rhodes to step aside for a blockbuster matchup with The Tribal Chief.
While the preview leaves much to the imagination, it appears all will finally be revealed when WrestleMania XL: Behind the Curtain premiers this Wednesday, July 3, at 7 p.m. ET on WWE’s YouTube channel.
