AEW and New Japan just wrapped up their third-annual Forbidden Door PPV from Long Island, New York’s UBS Arena. They closed the show with Swerve Strickland outlasting Will Ospreay to retain the AEW World title.
Was it the best match on the card?
Including the “Zero Hour” pre-show, it’s competing with 13 14 other matches for that honor. We also saw Mercedes Moné add the NJPW Strong Women’s championship to the TBS belt after beating Stephanie Vaquer, Jack Perry climbing a ladder over a bunch of broken bodies to become TNT champ, Bryan Danielson making Shingo Takagi verbally submit before Zack Sabre Jr. did the same thing to Orange Cassidy, and Timeless Toni Storm beating Mina Shirakawa before kissing & making up with her (and Mariah May). And that was just some of what happened at Forbidden Door!
