The 2024 edition of AEW’s annual cross-promotional pay-per-view (PPV) with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Forbidden Door, is in the books. Sun., June 30’s show closed with Swerve Strickland throwing the kitchen sink at Will Ospreay to retain his World title and hand Bruv his first singles loss in AEW.
It wrapped up a night that, including in the Zero Hour pre-show, featured 14 total matches. We also saw the IWGP World championship change hands, Mercedes Moné become a double champ just before Dr. Britt Baker returned, Jack Perry add another belt to The Elite’s collection, and Mariah May’s dreams come true after the AEW Women’s title match. And that was just some of what happened at Forbidden Door — which means Tony Khan and the stars of All Elite Wrestling, NJPW, Stardom & CMLL should have plenty to talk about at the media scrum — now billed as a “Post Show Reactions” show as well — kicking off right about now.
So click play up above and get ready for reactions to an eventful Forbidden Door. The scrum will also likely include some fun in-character work, comments on recent AEW-related news & rumors, some hints of what’s to come for the company & its partners, and who knows what else. These things do have a history of being pretty eventful…
